First Birthday Party

Recently my daughter, Elise Ruby, turned one! We had around 30 family members over to celebrate. Needless to say, I needed to have lots of food. Her party theme was gems, since she is our little Ruby "gem". It's hard to tell in the pictures, but her Happy Birthday banner was cut in the shape of gems, and there's a swag of crystals hanging above the banner.

Even the #1 had to be painted pink and "blinged out"

Of course I had 2 types of cupcakes: chocolate with coconut cream cheese frosting, and vanilla with pink tinted meringue frosting.

In keeping with the theme, gem stickers were applied to the cups.

I forgot to get a picture of this, but I also had ring pops as the favor with a hang tag that said, "Thank you for coming to Elise Ruby's gem-tastic birthday!". I also made a game for the kids: 'pin the gem on the finger' and the winner received a large crayon cut in the shape of a gem. Overall, most of the food was eaten and Elise Ruby had a great time... can't expect anything more than that!
