Bite Sized Party Poppin' Desserts

via
New Year's Eve is a wonderful time to reminisce about the year, look fabulous, drink something *sparkling* and enjoy some party food. Party food should be small and bite-size- no utensils, no plates. I've rounded up a few idea's that are perfectly poppable.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
via
First of all, who doesn't like chocolate covered strawberries? They're healthy and delicious but look decadent and fancy. And if the strawberries aren't ginormous then you should be able to eat this in one bite! Also, they're really easy to make. Just melt some dark chocolate, dip clean, dry strawberries in the chocolate, and lay them on a parchment-lined tray. Refrigerate to harden the chocolate, but to also keep cold. Put them out as your guests are arriving and watch them disappear!

Mini, sparkling Rice Krispy Treats
Yup, this is the "party version" of Rice Krispy Treats. Basically, follow the directions on the box for making the Rice Krispy treats and right after you've pressed them into the pan and they're still warm, throw on some sanding sugar or sprinkles. Cut them into one-inch squares so that they're teeny little bites.

Mini Cheesecakes
via
Cheesecake can feel so indulgent in a slice, but poured into a mini-muffin cup and suddenly it's fun, whimsical and ok to eat more than one! You can also have a lot of fun with mix-ins or toppings: various fruit, chopped candy bars, chocolate chips, Oreo's, whip cream on top... etc.

Petit Fours
So maybe you're not a planner and this has become a last-minute party. Or maybe you're not a baker and need a quick, yummy dessert. Well I think there's nothing wrong with purchasing Petit Fours. I actually bought these exact one's from Trader Joe's and Whole Food's also has a beautiful selection in their bakery department. I've actually never made Petit Fours because they seem daunting- the thought of individually decorating each and every tiny cake overwhelms me. Just break open a box of these, display on a pretty platter next to some fruit and no one will complain- because their mouths will be full of cake!

*Are you having a New Year's Eve party, or attending one? Will you be making any treats for it?
