Seashell Cake 2.0

Here is another version of the Seashell cake w/ some dramatic differences. First of all, the frosting is dyed a pale sea-glass aqua color (which helps set the sand and shells apart) and second; I made the shells this time around. The bride and groom were getting married by the ocean so this was a fitting wedding cake. They also didn't want a traditional cake topper, so the 2 large shells represent them as a couple.

The shells were made from molded wafer chocolate and then I painted on a luster dust to give them more depth. The coral is made from royal icing and the sand is a graham cracker mixture. Everything on the cake was edible.

The bottom tier is carrot cake and the top 2 tiers are red velvet and it's all covered in cream cheese frosting.
