elevated s'mores

These are AH-MAY-ZING!! First of all, it has all my favorite components: a shortbread crust, Nutella, marshmallow's annnnd it's easy to make.

I was lucky enough to receive this cookbook for Christmas, from my husband, and this was the first recipe I made from it. I mean, I hope I've established my love of anything with marshmallow's by now, so it should come as no surprise that this was the first recipe I tested.

I've made these twice now and every time I serve them they are met with applause, adoration and then promptly devoured. Just as they should be!

Triangle Trifecta Cookie

This blog has been wonderful at giving me the gumption to try my hand at some baked goods that I may have otherwise never thought about. These cookies are technically a Jewish custom called Hamantaschen, and I believe they’re usually filled with a fig spread. I have a friend, who happens to be Jewish, and these are one of her favorite cookies. The Jewish holiday Purim is this weekend so I thought this was an appropriately-timed cookie to try. Of course these Raspberry Rugelach cookies would be a wonderful accompaniment on the dessert table too.
Regardless of your religion these cookies will bring you to your knees. They are buttery and chocolaty

Nutella hot cocoa

When I was younger my older sister had an opportunity to go to the Netherlands and came back with many anecdotes involving bikes and such. What I really remember though is when she bragged/raved about having chocolate for breakfast. My mom wouldn't hear of such a thing. I mean, she was one of those strict moms that wouldn't even let us bring a fluffernutter sandwich for a school lunch because it was "basically candy" as she put it. Sigh. Of course she's right, you know, but no seven year old cares about healthy when they jealously spy the kid next to them licking marshmallow fluff off their face.
The chocolate that my older sister was talking about was the magical European treat that has stormed America's pantries over the last decade: NUTELLA! As the commercial states, you can put it on toast, dip fruit into it and now you can have hot cocoa with it!!!!!
So here I am having chocolate for breakfast and won't share it with my two-year old because "it's basically candy" (yes, mother's daughter). Regardless, this would be a wonderful snack or dessert to have and it takes no time at all. I still love the luxurious Triple Hot Cocoa (especially for a crowd) but I adapted this recipe for one serving so if a chocolate addiction hits you, this super fast cocoa can touch your lips in 2 minutes- thanks to the microwave.
