misc. cakes

The ribbon is fondant and the roses are made of gum paste.
I love the basket weave design on this cake.
This was a graduation cake and purple and black were the school colors.

More Bridal Shower cakes

This is a chocolate raspberry cake with a faux engagement ring around the raspberry, indicating the bride's piece.

This cake was supposed to be more elaborate but the color, mistakenly, turned too dark, therefore, the design had to be simple. I do love the monogram initials on the cake though.

Birthday Cakes

The husband of the birthday girl wanted to surprise her with her favorite cake, my chocolate raspberry cake with chocolate ganache as icing. The "40" and the Happy Birthday signs are made with wafer chocolate.

This is a chocolate cake with light blue wafer chocolate decorations.
This cake was for a Cowgirl Themed birthday party. The "lasso rope" around the cake is made of fondant braided together.

J'adore Paris

The bride and groom loved Paris, so I incorporated the Eiffel Tower into their cake. These were also the colors of their wedding, aqua blue and chocolate brown.

The Eiffel Towers were made of Royal Icing and the circles were chocolate fondant.

Winter Wonderland Wedding Cake

The wedding was in January and there were over 225 wedding guests attending, needless to say, this was a very large cake that took a long time because of all of the detail.

I wanted each tier to look delicate because this was such a big cake, so I had to keep the designs simple.

Ribbon Wedding Cakes

These wedding cakes were made with Fondant and ribbon. The ribbon is pinned together to look like buttons on the back of the dress.

This monogrammed cake topper is one of my favorite looks and is made out of wafer chocolate.

Kid's Cakes

Hello Kitty!

Hannah Montana is SO popular right now that I have made these cupcakes multiple times.
The HM logo is made of wafer chocolate so it is edible.

Seashell Bridal Shower Cake

This seashell cake was a bridal shower cake that I recently did. The maid of honor ordered these gorgeous edible white chocolate sea shells from another vendor, but I made the coral and the edible "sand". The bottom cake is a 12" chocolate cake with homeade raspberry filling and the top tier is vanilla cake with a French vanilla custard filling and the frosting is a Swiss Meringue.

The function hall for the Bridal shower didn't have air conditioning and that is why the cake is so shiny! The Swiss Meringue is durable but it did get really soft in the August humidity.

I still think that the color of the cake should be a soft blue so that the shells could stand out more, but the Bride didn't want blue. Oh well!
